Welcome to the home of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Orientation Leaders
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Aggie Orientation Leader Program welcomes new Aggies to the Texas A&M University campus during all New Student Conferences throughout the year.   The Aggie Orientation Leader Program strives to "continually connect new students to Texas A&M by personally supporting, serving, and using all available resources to help ease the transition for them and their families."  Orientation Leaders (OLs) try to minimize anxiety, promote positive attitudes, and stimulate the excitement of learning in all new Aggies while exhibiting the true Aggie spirit.

Orientation Leaders, carefully chosen to represent the university as ambassadors, ARE Texas A&M for new and prospective students. OLs provide reassurance, impartially help students make their own decisions, encourage involvement in campus life, share experiences, build A&M's community of respect, and provide information about campus resources and services.  Executive Committee members develop and coordinate conference programs staffed and presented by OLs.

Both the Executive Committee and other Orientation Leaders mentor new students into the semester through the First-time Aggie Contact Team.   As members of the First-time Aggie Contact Team, OLs check in with new Aggies to assist them in identifying any concerns, to answer any questions as the semester proceeds, and to refer students to appropriate resources and services on campus.

Orientation Leaders gain skills in leadership, public speaking,  small group dynamics, management,  motivation, and  teamwork among other things.  OLs also have a great deal of FUN sharing Texas A&M and Aggie Spirit with new Aggies and with each other.

AOLP Conference Programs

The Aggie Orientation Leader Program (AOLP) assists in producing the New Student Conferences, orientation sessions for all freshman and transfer students entering Texas A&M University.

The AOLP Executive Committee coordinate and implements many of the programs offered at New Student Conferences, as well as with the assistance of  Orientation Leaders, help with many of the other conference programs.

Texas A&M would not be able to provide these programs without the dedicated staff of student leaders who comprise the AOLP Executive Committee and the Orientation Leaders.  These Aggies volunteer their time and share their experiences and love of Texas A&M with new students and families.
